The Boston Scottish Fiddle Club

Our 2008-2009 season will begin in October, with workshops in Arlington on Oct 5, Nov 2 and Dec 7, 2008.  Instructors lined up to lead the workshops are Anne Hooper, Calum Pasqua and Kimberly Fraser.  As usual, the workshop will begin with a beginner's session, taught at a slower pace, followed by an intermediate session taught at a somewhat faster pace.
Our meeting place is Pleasant Street Congregational Church at 75 Pleasant St. Arlington.  See the Meeting section of this web site for directions and public transit information.

Since 1999, the Boston Scottish Fiddle Club has operated with a different musical instructor each month, giving members a variety of teaching styles while still carrying on the tradition of learning about and playing Scottish fiddle music.

Our charter is to educate the public about Scottish fiddle music, embracing musicians of all levels on any instrument as well as listeners. While most of our members play the fiddle, many play other instruments, and we often have guitar, mandolin, banjo, flute, penny whistle, accordian, concertina, piano, and an occasional bodhran in our sessions. We are open to any instrument!
